Pinter 101 - All you need to know before startingUpdated 8 hours ago

What is the Pinter?
The Pinter is a home-brewing system that lets you make fresh, great-tasting beer or cider from scratch — with no need for bottles, extra equipment, or electricity. Designed for simplicity, it allows you to brew, condition, and pour all from one compact, reusable unit that fits neatly in your fridge.

Each Pinter Pack contains precisely measured ingredients, developed to work perfectly with the Pinter. The free Pinter app guides you through every step of the process, making brewing easy and enjoyable, even for first-timers.

Fresher than shop-bought, more sustainable than traditional brewing.

What does the Pinter system include?

  • The Pinter — the main brewing vessel, a reusable keg-like container designed to brew, condition, and pour your beer or cider

  • Brewing Dock — a stand that holds your Pinter and collects yeast sediments during fermentation

  • Active Pour Tap — an integrated tap to pour your brew easily and cleanly

  • Pinter App — a free companion app that guides you step-by-step through brewing, conditioning, and pouring

What is a Pinter Pack?

A Pinter Pack is the essential ingredient kit you need to start brewing—you cannot begin your first Pinter brew without one! It contains everything required to make a full batch of fresh beer or cider in your Pinter, including:

  • Purifier — to clean your Pinter before brewing

  • Fresh Press — a pouch of concentrated, cold-filled ingredients

  • Yeast sachet — to kick-start fermentation

  • Hopper — hop oil or hops for added flavour (note: hoppers are not always included)

You might hear people use the terms Pinter Pack, Beer Pack, or Fresh Press interchangeably, but they all refer to the brewing ingredients that go into your Pinter.

Each pack is tailored for a specific style, from hoppy IPAs to crisp ciders, and is designed to work perfectly with the Pinter system.

What is a Co-Pinter?

A Co-Pinter is a second or additional Pinter vessel that lets you brew a different beer or cider batch while your original Pinter is still conditioning or pouring. This means you can enjoy more variety without waiting for one brew to finish.

The Co-Pinter works exactly like the original Pinter and uses the same Pinter Packs. It’s a perfect way to expand your brewing options at home.

The Co-Pinter includes:

  • The Pinter vessel — the reusable keg-like container

  • Active Pour Tap — for easy pouring

Unlike the original Pinter, the Co-Pinter does not include a Brewing Dock. This means you can use your existing Brewing Dock to brew a new batch while your Pinter is Conditioning in the fridge, ready for tapping.

What is Brewing and Conditioning on a Pinter?

  • Brewing is the process where you combine your Pinter Pack ingredients (Fresh Press, yeast, etc.) with water inside the Pinter vessel. This is when fermentation begins — the yeast starts converting sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide, turning your ingredients into beer or cider.

  • Conditioning happens after brewing and fermentation have started. It’s the resting period where your beer or cider matures inside the sealed Pinter vessel. During conditioning, flavours develop and unwanted compounds settle out, producing a smoother, more balanced drink. This process happens in your fridge, allowing the brew to naturally carbonate and become ready to pour.

Together, brewing and conditioning in the Pinter system give you fresh, ready-to-drink beer or cider without the hassle of traditional brewing methods.

What are the best tips and tricks before I start?

Here are some key tips we’ve found help beginners get the best results:

  • Use the Pinter App!
It provides clear written instructions and helpful videos at every step of the brewing process.

  • Mix your Fresh Press thoroughly.
Give it a good, vigorous mix to ensure the ingredients are fully combined.

  • If you have a Hopper, make sure it’s screwed in fully.
Use it after Brewing and before Conditioning. After attaching the Hopper, gently tilt your Pinter from side to side to release any air bubbles around the Hopping Inlet. Leave the Hopper in place for 3–5 minutes to allow everything to drain properly into the Pinter.

  • For the perfect pour:
Hold your glass at a 45-degree angle under the tap. Gently pull the Tap Handle forward to start the flow — pulling further increases the pour speed.

  • Manage carbonation during pouring:
If you notice a slow pour, try lowering the Carbonation Dial while using your Tap. After every pour, reset the Carbonation Dial to 5.
