Brewing takes place outside the fridge, but conditioning is a vital step — and must always be done with your Pinter in the fridge.
To learn more about why conditioning matters and how it works: Pinter Tips & Tricks.
We measured up and believe that our Pinters fit into 90% of standard fridges in the US. However, to be safe, we recommend that you measure your fridge to see if it will fit.
The Brewing Dock is not attached during conditioning – only the Pinter goes in the fridge.
❓Can I keep my Pinter vertical in the fridge during the conditioning stage and beyond?
Short answer: No — your Pinter should not be kept vertical during conditioning or tapping.
Here’s how it should be positioned:
During brewing:
Your Pinter should be kept vertical while it's on the Brewing Dock. This upright position is essential for the fermentation process to work properly.During conditioning and tapping:
Once brewing is complete and you’ve removed the Pinter from the Brewing Dock, it should always be kept horizontal. This position ensures carbonation develops evenly and that the beer pours correctly.
Why can’t I keep it vertical afterwards?
If the Pinter is stored or used vertically after brewing — whether resting on the carbonation dial/ hopper inlet, or tap — it can affect carbonation, cause leaks, and disrupt the beer’s quality.
It may also damage internal components not designed to support the unit in that position post-brewing.
In summary:
✅ Brewing: Vertical on the Brewing Dock
✅ Conditioning and Tapping: Horizontal only
❌ Never keep it vertical after brewing
If you’ve accidentally kept your Pinter upright after brewing, don’t worry — just move it to the correct horizontal position. And if you’re unsure about anything, our Customer Support team is here to help.
